Qatar is the wealthiest country in Asia and is planning a superlative transport infrastructure. A freight and passenger rail network of 650km in length and 100 train stations will be built at a cost of more than 20 billion euros. The country will play host to the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Qatar has launched a medium-term development programme called National Vision 2030, which is to transform the country into one of the world’s most advanced states.

Many Austrian companies and institutions are already operating in Qatar. Qatar and Austria are partners, and this is the export magazine for economic relations between the two countries.
